Walking around Singapore ♥ Part 3: Marina Bay Sands Shopping Center Going to Marina Bay Sands by subway MRT is a bit tricky. That's because the station names are confusing. You'd think it was Marina Bay Station because it's "Marina Bay Sands"?! It's actually Bayfront Station. For some reason, even though I'm Japanese, local aunties often ask me for directions, and at Marina Bay Station, I'm often asked, "How do I get to Marina Bay Sands?" I myself also got lost when I took my parents who came from Japan to Singapore, and a local Singaporean (who are often kind) kindly took us there, saying, "I'm going to Marina Bay Sands too, so I'll show you," and took the trouble to get in the next car on the train so that we could see each other, so that we wouldn't have to worry about anything. Otherwise, we might not have been able to get there?! Since then, I myself have tried to kindly give directions when people ask me. (^^ゞ So, I headed to the Marina Bay Sands Shopping Center, which is directly connected to Bayfront Station ♥ Once you exit the ticket gate, you're already on the first basement floor of Marina Bay Sands, and in front of you you can see the canal and gondolas that were modeled after those in Venice, Italy. There's also a large store by Japan's Mikimoto. ♥ This is also the entrance to the casino, but when you go down to the basement, there are a number of famous watch and jewelry brand stores lined up, and if you buy something at the casino, you can buy it here.
