Hello everyone! It's Oka!
It's been hot and humid for a while! On Sunday, July 2nd, I'll be performing at the Tsukigama in Gamo. I couldn't attend last May because I had a kabuki appreciation class, but today it wasn't raining so I was lucky to be able to come.
Today's kimono is a heavily modified tsukesage silk kimono that I bought at a kimono shop in Nihonbashi. It was high quality, so I had Morimoto, a dye correction specialist, fix the discoloration.
The obi is a nine-inch Nagoya obi that I bought at Daifuku-ya. It's a high-quality nine-inch Nagoya obi with a pattern made of gold and silver threads, so it can be used for formal kimonos.
It really makes a difference to wear a traditional kimono like this!
My hairstyle is a Kabukicho chignon by Mademoiselle Yulia, who I took lessons with at Miyabi-sensei's class.
The next day was a tea ceremony in Gamo, so I slept on my side and when I looked at it the next morning, it was almost still in place!
I asked the teacher if I could bring it with me to the tea ceremony the next day, so I did the lesson. They used a sturdy hair clipper.
Everyone, if it's Miyabi Sensei, you can come the next day! You can even come the day after!
I also had the chance to say hello to A Sensei for the first time in a while. At the reception, we chatted with the members of the shrine we met at Hiraoka Shrine.
Heh heh heh
